If your company uses or is considering using a contractor to provide background screening on potential employees or tenants, a new catchphrase is in place — Get it right!

This year, much attention has been focused on background screening and new guidance has been issued by the federal agencies who monitor these processes.

Most of the attention has been focused the issues of accuracy and fairness

.

The management and staff at TruDiligence understand the importance of getting it right.

Background screenings are conducted to protect employers and landlords. There is a second side to that coin and that is the subject of any background screening. That person deserves the same quality treatment that our clients get.

The only way a background screening works for either party is when its accurate.

In the wake of a recent case, the question of accuracy in screenings moved quickly into the spotlight.

Anthony Rodriguez, a staff attorney for the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, summed up the issue perfectly in an articleposted at WorkForce.com:

“It’s difficult enough in this economy to find employment. People shouldn’t have to worry about dealing with background screening information that’s inaccurate.”

Accuracy is critical. If the reports provided with background screening are wrong, someone has been a disservice.

The pressure is on employers and landlords to make good decisions when it comes to hiring and leasing. They can only make good decisions when they have the right information.

So, if you are using a contractor to conduct background screenings, it is important that you know how they work and that you trust the quality of the work that they do.

At TruDiligence, we are committed to getting it right. If you would like to learn more about how we can help you, contact us.
