NAPBS accreditation stamp of approval.

In the background screening industry, professional accreditation matters. And as time goes by, we find it matters more, not less. Especially to earn NAPBS accreditation.

Like most industries, background screening has benefited from ever-improving technology and especially, automation. But accreditation goes deeper than the tools and techniques an organization uses to provide services. The accreditation process ensures that qualifying firms meet or exceed a comprehensive set of standards.

NAPBS Accreditation Requirements

To become accredited, a consumer reporting agency (CRA) must pass a rigorous on-site audit conducted by an independent auditing firm. The audit of the CRA’s policies and procedures is comprehensive, related to six critical areas:

  • Consumer protection
  • Legal compliance
  • Client education
  • Product standards
  • Service standards and
  • General business practices

Because the industry doesn’t stand still, accreditation is not a once-and-done activity, or a milestone to be reached and then forgotten. Once earned, accredited CRAs must re-apply and repeat the process every five years to maintain accreditation. At TruDiligence, we think that’s a good thing – for our company, and for our clients.

Industry Seal of Approval, Guiding Principles

Accreditation from the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) is recognized as the industry’s seal of approval, but more than that, by earning that seal, a background screening organization proves its commitment to excellence, accountability, high professional standards, and continued institutional improvement.

Our clients have chosen to work with us for more than 25 years because, every day, we demonstrate that commitment. Every day, even as risks expand (while technology has made our jobs easier, it has also opened up new avenues for fraud) we return to our guiding principles in each of those six areas that  NAPBS accreditation focuses on. Because we focus on continuous improvements in these key areas, our clients say that they feel that working with TruDiligence is like having a partner to help guide their business decisions.
